To achieve this effect, garments are first washed in stones and minerals to break down the pigments in the fabric. An enzyme wash strips away the majority of the color leaving creases and folds in the seams a lot darker than the rest of the jean. Local 3D whiskers are applied and potassium is sprayed to even out the remaining hue of the wash.
