Day of Discovery

It's funny how on such a small island, so much is jam packed into the multiple neighborhoods that we inhabit amongst the endless amounts of people. Each hood separated by something as little as a bodega or a train stop but all so very different. Living in lower Manhattan, in Nolita, the urge to rush from place to place only stopping for a quick, jaded glance at tourists snapping pics or of course for your daily caffeine fix is something you become accustomed to without realizing... until you make your way uptown. Today was a day of adventure after a beam of sun broke through the clouds. I made my way to the Upper East Side with camera in hand and strolled the blocks soaking up the slower paced, architecturally beautiful neighborhood. Living in such a faced paced city, you forget that other things exist outside of your daily routined walks. No matter how long you live in New York [or really any city], there is always something left undiscovered. A new goal of mine is to work through my list of sights left unseen in the two-plus years I have been wondering around this city. Couldn't be better timing with the first day of spring just around the corner!
