Selvedge denim is made on a shuttle loom where the weft yarn wraps around the edge of the fabric creating a finished edge called a selvedge. The resulting fabric is narrower, creating premium quality denim. Very few factories in the world still use shuttle looms and the Japanese have perfected the process.
