This ring is one of a kind with a large oval deep purple 13.59 carat amethyst (1/2 x 5/8). I was reading about all the different kinds of rings and there was a 'pope' ring which had a very large stone, as you can imagine. Since I usually wear and build small jewelry, this name seemed apt. The band is a construction of two elements -- 2 half-rounds and a twisted rope in between. This ring, despite its' size, is quite comfortable. The interior of the bezel forms to your finger (you can see the curve in one of the photos) and have kept the back open so the light can shine through this gorgeous purple faceted amethyst. You are sure to be a hit with this one of a kind gem. Materials: The bezel is fine silver (99.99% silver), the band is sterling with a matte brushed finish.
